Lophius Biosciences is a leading developer of innovative T-cell based diagnostic test systems.

Following successful participation in the Hochschulgründerwettbewerb 1999/2000 (a competition for university start-ups) and the Businessplan Wettbewerb of Northern Bavaria 2000/2001, Lophius Biosciences GmbH was founded as a spin-off of the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hygiene and the Clinic and Polyclinic for Internal Medicine I of the University Hospital Regensburg. Several rounds of funding over the last years enabled Lophius Biosciences GmbH to develop from an academic research institute into a market-driven diagnostics company.

Located in Regensburg, Lophius Biosciences currently employs 20 people. In fall 2011 the company moved to the new BioPark 3.
